Victorious School of Screen and Stage Combat

Victorious opened in 2021 as the first school in Ireland providing continuous industry-standard training for screen combat and stage combat, as well as a full-time practice space for members. Victorious aims to create a fun, safe, and open environment for anyone interested in the art of stage combat, through a range of training options.

IDCA Certification. Victorious hosts the full range of IDCA certified courses, a set of Europe-wide recognised qualifications for actors and stage-combatants.

Workshops. Introductory and refresher workshops are available in various unarmed and armed screen and stage combat styles. External workshops are also available to accommodate schools, universities, or private groups.

Private Training. Custom one-to-one or small-group training sessions can be arranged to accommodate specific training or individual requirements.

Full-Time Membership. Ongoing training classes are held twice per week for full-time members, allowing students to practice and build upon the skills learned during the IDCA courses.

Jay is an experienced fight director, certified IDCA stage combat instructor, and the founder of Victorious Stage Combat. He is a professional fight performer and actor with over 20 years of industry experience.

As an IDCA stage combat instructor, Jay has taught students across Ireland’s leading drama schools and universities, including the Gaiety School of Acting, The Lir Academy, Bow Street Academy, and Queens University. He founded Victorious in 2021, where he continues to train actors, actor-combatants, stunt performers, and industry professionals.

Jay is a blackbelt martial artist experienced in shotokan karate, kickboxing, hapkido, ju-jitsu, muay thai, kung fu, and pro wrestling. He has trained with leading experts in a range of weapons styles including katana, nun-chucks, whip, cane, cloak and dagger, axe, tomahawk, meteor hammer, and special weapons and tactics (SWAT) for screen.
